To engineer excellence we have eight specialist teams. All our teams employ experienced qualified tradesmen and are supported by young apprentices as we continue to invest in engineering skills for the future.

Steve Sullivan


Chief Executive Officer

Steve has worked in the marine engineering and hydraulic business on the Port of Nelson for over 25 years, starting as a fitter and turner apprentice with Nalder & Biddle. Steve was General Manager at Challenge Marine Ltd, growing the company from a small jobbing workshop to a key player in marine engineering.

At Aimex Service Group he continues to develop strong relationships with our customers to work alongside them to provide innovative effective marine engineering solutions. He specializes in the sales and service of Rapp Hydema products and heads the team assigned representatives for Rapp Hydema in both New Zealand and Australia.

 Ross Harvey


Engineering Services Manager

Ross started in the engineering business by completing his boiler making apprenticeship with Anchor Dorman Limited. He gained extensive project management and boat build experience over the next 20 years with other engineering companies in New Zealand.

At Aimex Service Group he works with customers to create cost effective solutions for major refits, builds and major surveys.


 Pauline Warne


Chief Operations Officer

Pauline is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with experience in financial management, implementation of systems and processes and day to day operations management. She has experience as a Financial Controller in the marine engineering industry, jewellery and swimwear manufacturing industry and the not for profit sector.

At Aimex Service Group, Pauline supports Steve in the day to day operations and business administration.

 Kevin Freeman


Workshop Manager

Kevin is the heart of engineering operations at Aimex S. He manages the scheduling of all aspects of customer repair, refit and survey requirements including organizing our workforce of over 35 employees and contractors. He works closely with our local businesses to ensure fast, efficient turnaround of works and deals with day to day engineering solutions as they arise.

Kevin qualified as a fitter turner machinist with R A Garlic Ltd in Greymouth and gained experience in New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea before coming to work in engineering businesses in Port Nelson over 21 years ago.

 Andrew Milne


Hydraulics Service Technician / Rapp Hydema Service

Andrew has been in the engineering business for over 25 years, starting as a fitter turner in Port Lyttleton and now specializes as a hydraulic service technician in Port Nelson. He spent time in Norway completing Rapp Hydema training. He has been providing hydraulic systems and solutions to customers for over 16 years.

At Aimex Service Group Andrew also provides the installation, service and support of the Rapp Hydema product range.
